Local Author Gives Back

On behalf of Angels of Inspirations and my partner Derek I was interviewed by a local paper. After having corrected a few minnor errors in quotes would like to share the interview with you guys our friends and family here at Angels of Inspiration.

News Paper Interview:

Dawn O'Dell along with partner Derek Fobert are moulding young minds while generating funds for local shelter for abused women.

The Belleville and Kingston natives are behind a new children's book packed with inspirational messages geared towards sparking the imagination of area youngsters.

"Our plan is to give children the tools to set goals and persevere," Dawn said.

O'Dell and Fobert, 43 and 40, will also get the added satisfaction of donating a percentage of the book sales to the Three Oaks Foundation, a shelter for abused women and their children.

The book, dubbed Angels of Inspiration, Lydia's Dream Come True, will also include illustrations created by its Kingston-based author, Derek Fobert. Plans are already in motion to transform the solo project into a series, with the upcoming release created by O'Dell having a Christmas theme.

"We will chose a different charity for each book," O'Dell said.

The book is already available at Greenley's Bookstore and Amazon.ca. By September it will be on sale at Chapters in the Quinte Mall and Chapters online and Baico book store as well as Baico online.

O'Dell said the the charity was chose and personal to her personal experience with Three Oaks. She had spent a few days at the shelter with her then two-year-old son. She said the services offered by the agency are instrumental in getting women back on there feet. O'Dell and her partner decided it was worth giving back.

"They're a stepping stone in enabling kids and parents to create and get to their dreams," she said.
